The time has come to decide upon the perfect spring destination that the whole family will enjoy. Never fear. Whether you are four or 94, there is something for everyone to enjoy while visiting the nation’s largest retail and entertainment complex. Here are the top 5 picks for why you should visit Mall of America this spring:
On loan from the Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s 500-year old ancestral home in England, Diana, A Celebration will be on display at Mall of America until June 10. Recently featured on The Today Show, the exhibit features 150 objects throughout nine galleries and gives guests an inside look at her life before and after becoming part of the Royal family. From Mall of America, it will travel back to the family estate.
Nickelodeon Universe welcomes two new thrills to the park this spring including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock, the first ever ride of its kind in the United States. The ride will put the adventure in guests’ hands from take-off to landing. A second new attraction to Nickelodeon Universe is the Dutchman’s Deck Anchor Drop stainless steel spiral tube slide system dropping guests from 56 and 35 feet in the air. The amusement park also features 26 other rides and attractions for guests of all ages and courage levels and a chance to meet all the favorite Nickelodeon Characters.
Mall of America turns 20 on August 11 – and we must say – we’ve aged well. Throughout the past 20 years, we’ve hosted some pretty awesome events. In fact, each year, we hold more than 400 events like concerts or celebrity book signings. And you never know when you might run across a celebrity shopping under cover. Throughout the years we’ve seen the likes of celebrities visiting on their own time like Justin Bieber, Gwen Stephani, Ludicris and many more. Mall of America has welcomed several new, exclusive stores that guests can’t get enough of including Superdry USA, Little MissMatched, Stuart Weitzman and more. Be sure to plan your itinerary correctly, as it will take you approximately 86 hours if you spend a mere 10 minutes in each store. While here, you can use our mobile website, or if you’re an Android user, find a real-time map in the Google Maps application.
Imagine traveling 14 feet underwater where sharks, stingrays and giant sea turtles swim so close, you’ll feel like you can reach out and touch them. You’ll come nose to nose with over 5,000 sea creatures in the 1.2 million gallon aquarium and be able to touch real sea stars, crabs and more.
Mall of America welcomes more than 16 million tourists each year. In fact, four out of every ten visits to Mall of America accounts for guests visiting from outside of Minnesota and the United States. Guests can travel with ease to Mall of America as the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is located a mere 1.5 miles away and is also connected via Light Rail Transit.
