Three student teams, each representing a Normandale Community College program, will duke it out in an event throw-down to compete for the coveted “Toast of the Town” title and trophy on Saturday, Oct. 6 in the Rotunda at Mall of America®. The fine arts, student health and service learning departments will each compete in an effort to raise the most funds for the Normandale Community College Foundation by hosting an event and rallying guests to donate and participate.
The events hosted by each team are created specifically to relate to each program. The fine arts department’s “Team Music” will host Music Trivia. “Team Psyched Up!” representing the student social sciences program, will present their rendition of “Family Feud” called “Toast of the Town Throwdown.” Lastly, “Team Service-Learning,” from the Center for Experimental Learning will present their take on “Minute to Win It” with their game called “60 Seconds to Serve it Up.” Any donation made during the event will be matched by The Stonebridge Group of Thrivent Financial. All funds raised will go towards the Normandale Fund which provides scholarships and funding support for academic and outreach programs at Normandale Community College.
Established in 1979, the Normandale Community College Foundation is a non-profit organization that sponsors numerous fundraising activities to help provide funding to students including scholarships, services for students with disabilities and diversity efforts.
